Beehive Hotel hosted an intimate imported tasting last night which were paired deliciously with a variety of food.
The Beehive Hotel in Hawthorn re-opened on Tuesday with a new look, it’s definitely worth heading down to try some of their food and pizza
Chateau des FERRAGES, Cotes de Provence “Roumery” Rosé
A blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah. Rose petal colour with fresh and fruity aromas of red fruit. On the palate a good balance between freshness, structure, acidity and alcohol with a rich and soft body with red fruit dominating. Best enjoyed chilled with all kinds of food.
Domaine LAROCHE Chablis “St Martin”
Chablis St Martin has a beautiful, transparent colour of golden green. To the nose, subtle and creamy. To the palette, a suggestion of butter with classical mineral notes and hints of hazelnut and gunpowder. Long and intense in the mouth and a supple finish.
Cave de RIBEAUVILLE, Pinot Gris “Collection Prestige”
Pinot Gris is a wine of a great aromatic complexity. It often exalts smoked flavours, autumn leaves, mushrooms and dried fruits. It is round and unctuous.

DELAS FRERES, Cotes-du-Rhone “Saint Esprit” Rouge
The Saint-Esprit’s deep color has a dark, plum-like hue. The nose is classical Syrah, with berry fruit, violet, licorice and spices. It has a full, rounded palate with delicate tannins. Saint-Esprit is a unique wine in the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation and can be paired with Provençale-style cuisine, game, stuffings and mixed grills.
Côtes de CASTILLON, Chateau l’Eglise
Château l’Eglise is run by the Dieuxyssies Family. The vineyard spread over 29 hectares made of claylimestone and sandy-silty soil and sub-soil. The grapes are 40 % Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Vinification is carefully controlled and made in stainless steel tanks, during 18-25 days. Wine
is ageing in oak barrels. Fruity and woody notes are well-balanced, tannins are perfectly soft. Ripe fruit aromas are persistent in finale. To be served between 16° C and 18° C. It will fit perfectly with red meats and also cheeses.
Chateau Petrus Gaia
Bright golden colour with pale gold hue. The nose displays lifted top notes of honeyed apricot followed by some raisin, toffee and spice. Rich and luscious palate texture showing excellent concentration with mouthfilling flavours of honey, raisins, apricot and spice. Clean finish with long aftertaste of honey, apricot and raisin.
Le Tertre du Lys d’Or
Bright golden colour with pale gold hue. The nose displays lifted top notes of honeyed apricot followed by some raisin, toffee and spice.
