Champagne Awards

2014 marked the first Ordre Des Coteaux De Champagne induction ceremony held in Australia. On Wednesday 19th November at the Sydney Opera House, the Commandeur of the Ordre, Fabrice Rosset, also President of Champagne Deutz, proudly opened an official chapter of the organisation in Australia. Domaine Wine Shippers are very proud to announce that Gary Steel, Melinda Steel and Matthew Withers were inducted as Chevaliers into this prestigious Ordre. Presented by our dear friend, Antoine Roland-Billecart of Champagne Billecart-Salmon, Gary, Melinda and Matthew received the title of Chevalier for their ongoing support, promotion and service to Champagne. The induction ceremony was followed by a generous dinner with many great Champagnes being served throughout. The elegant Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé NV, served from magnum, was a fitting end to the wonderful evening, and was regarded by many, including us, as the wine of the night.
